What is happening in Yuma in late October 2026?

Día de los Muertos celebration, October 24

The Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area hosts its sixth annual Día de los Muertos celebration on Saturday, October 24, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Colorado River State Historic Park, 201 N. 4th Ave. Expect live music, folklórico dancers, mariachi, an altar contest, a Catrina costume contest, a community mural, and local artists, with food and drinks sold separately. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for youth ages 4 to 17. One heads-up: the announcement sits on the Yuma Territorial Prison website, but the celebration is at the river park, not the prison. Bring a jacket, it gets cool by the river at night.

Scary and Safe Halloween, October 31

Halloween night, the Yuma County Fairgrounds hosts Scary and Safe from 5 to 8 p.m.: booths, candy, and a place for kids to show off their costumes. Admission is $1 per person, or $5 for a fast pass. Entrances are off 32nd Street. It is a three-hour window, not a full day. For a family on a budget, this is the easiest Halloween outing in town.

What is happening in Yuma in November 2026?

Racing returns to Cocopah Speedway, November 4 to 7

Racing is back in the Yuma area this fall. Cocopah Speedway in Somerton hosts the Diamond in the Desert, November 4 to 7: practice Wednesday, then three straight nights of racing Thursday through Saturday, with Modifieds going for $8,000 to win in the finale. If you have never been to a night race in the desert, it is loud, dusty, and a lot of fun. The track is an easy drive from the Foothills and central Yuma, and the Turkey Bowl follows November 19 to 21 if you want a second option.

Veterans Benefit Expo, November 6

ARIZONA at Work Yuma hosts its annual Veterans Benefit Expo on Friday, November 6, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Career Center, 300 S. 13th Ave. It connects veterans and their dependents with benefits, services, and job opportunities, and it is free. With MCAS Yuma and the Proving Ground right here, this one matters to a lot of local families.

That's Not Me Comedy Tour, November 7

The Historic Yuma Theatre downtown hosts the That's Not Me Comedy Tour on Saturday, November 7, at 8 p.m. Make it a date night: dinner on Main Street, then walk over to the show.

Veterans Day, November 11

Veterans Day falls on Wednesday, November 11, and Yuma does not do this one halfway. The annual Veterans Day Parade, put on by American Legion Post 19, is the tradition: floats, marching bands, school groups, and active-duty Marines from MCAS Yuma down 4th Avenue, with a ceremony afterward. Expect a big crowd this year, and check Visit Yuma closer to the date for the start time.

Turkey Bowl, November 19 to 21

Cocopah Speedway closes its fall stretch with the Turkey Bowl, November 19 to 21: practice Thursday, racing Friday and Saturday, with Modifieds at $2,000 to win each night. After that the track goes quiet until December, so this is your last shot at racing before the holidays.

Why November is the best month to be in Yuma

This is what the snowbirds come back for: highs in the low 70s, cool evenings, and a full calendar. If you are a winter visitor scoping out homes in the Foothills or along the river, tour neighborhoods in person while you are here. And if you live here year-round, you already know: this is the payoff for August.
